The Bartending Schools were built by David Phillips, Founder and CEO. David has over 25 years experience in the Education and Bartending industries. His passion for education and desire to help others, has allowed for The Premium Institute of Bartending Schools to be DFW’s #1 Choice in Bartender Training since 2007.

Prior to opening the Dallas and Fort Worth area Bartending Schools, David researched other Bartending Schools, talked to prospective students, and spoke to numerous bar and restaurant owners. Here are the results of those discussions.

He asked students what they would like to see in a Professional Bartending School:

  • Instructors who care and will help us learn what we need to know
  • The school needs to look and feel like a bar
  • Getting experience behind a real bar
  • How to maximize tips

With that in mind, David built the Bartending Schools to simulate a real bar, and during class, the mood is set to make you feel like you are in a real bar. Each day the School showcases a new environment to ensure you learn in all types of settings.

He added the Externship Program to help get students in a real bar BEFORE they graduate. David also created a Professional Development class to help students learn how to interview for Bartending Jobs, How to Maximize Tips, and ensure they have a quality HARD COPY Professional resume for all Bartending Jobs.

David asked the Dallas Bar/Restaurant Owners what skills they wanted Bartending Graduates to have:

  • Speed and Efficiency
  • Accuracy in Liquor pouring
  • Presentation of the drinks
  • Customer Service

So our entire Bartending Curriculum is built around these four components. In addition to the 100’s of recipes we teach, you will learn to use two hands while making drinks, to minimize the number of steps to complete multiple drink orders, to accurately pour from ¼ ounce to 3 oz’s of liquor, the proper fill levels of the different glassware, and the use of correct garnishes.

This is what The Premium Institute of Bartending is all about!
